LCWR Jubilee Commemorating the Conference's Founding in 1956
LCWR, which was founded in 1956, is marking its 50th anniversary with commemorations both nationally and regionally throughout the United States. The jubilee year officially opened at the LCWR assembly in August 2005 in Anaheim, California and will close in August 2006 at the assembly in Atlanta, Georgia.
The conference looks upon this year as a time to note the tremendous accomplishments of US women religious, but also as a time to look ahead at the continuing mission of religious life.
